Based in Harlem NYC, the mission of the Alliance Of Families For Justice is to support, empower and mobilize families and individuals impacted by the criminal justice system so they can marshal their collective power to create a just world.

In fulfillment of that mission, AFJ has hosted community advocacy events and classes where the family members (overwhelmingly women) have learned about and become involved with their local community boards, and have even gone on several trips to Albany to meet with legislators who helped to roll back package and visitation policies that would have negatively impacted incarcerated people and their loved ones.
