I think of Deb as being among my original set of fellow 'cidiot' friends I made here before Dia:Beacon opened and nobody quite knew what the heck George Trakas was welding together at Long Dock. We worked together on the now forgotten Beacon Dispatch newspaper that I designed and where she wrote about local hikes. I had no idea at the time that she would go on to parlay her interest in nature into her flourishing Landscape Restorations venture. Working together to create this t shirt was a good way for us to keep in touch during these socially distant times. - Randall Martin
Randall is a friend, collaborator, talented designer and Grammy Nominee (for his work on a Johnny Cash boxed set). I hire him to design anything that has to do with Landscape Restorations. He designed the logo (not on the tee-shirt), which truly depicts what I do most days...managing invasive plant species in the Hudson Highlands and restoring the areas with native plant species. I genuinely believe nature is a fundamental right for all and that biodiversity is beautiful. As our way to give back to the community we are donating a large portion from the sale of our shirt to Green Teen, the inspiring program at Beacon High School which "... empowers urban youth to be effective community change-agents by immersing them in the local food system. This youth development program teaches life and work skills through hands-on experiences in farming and gardening, health and nutrition, entrepreneurship, and leadership." - Debra Adamsons
