Club/Draw was started 6 years ago to give a small group of people a reason to draw together one night a month. However, it quickly grew into a night of art, music, and community where artists of all ages, races, genders and backgrounds were welcome. It didn't matter if you were a professional artist or hadn't drawn since high school, everyone draws and everyone is part of the experience, everyone who shows up becomes a member of Club/Draw.
Every month a different member of Club/Draw is asked to draw the flyer for the next months event. So far over 70 artists have done flyers, some have done a few. This shirt features the hand made words "Club/Draw" from each of those flyers. It represents the diversity of the members and is a example of the community that has been created around the simple idea of putting pencil to paper.
We have decided to give all of the profits from this shirt to Beacon 4 Black Lives; a grassroots organization dedicated to fighting violence and systemic racism against Black people in our community and worldwide. They have been organizing weekly, powerful marches down main street followed by inspiring events in Memorial Park featuring speeches, poetry, and music from a diverse cross section of people and voices.
