Sometimes an artist needs a wall, A Poet or MC needs a mic and a DJ needs a crowd. Cryptic Gallery landed on Poughkeepsie's Main street and quickly became the place for the community to display their skills. Through open mics, curated art shows and live mural painting out back we had a place to meet up and call our own while taking in some of the talent our city holds. As a former gallery director I know the steep mountain they are currently climbing. I appreciate the youthful excitement they tackle it with, and In the age of disappearing venues I know the power of a solidified gathering point for the like minded and the curious. I'd like to help Cryptic continue their quest in these tough times to be just that.
