I fell in love with Byrdcliffe in 2017, when I arrived as a starry-eyed intern to it's historic Mount Guardian campus. Throughout the three years I worked with their artist-in-residence program, I fell in love over and over and over again; at Byrdcliffe, I found a creative community in full bloom, a forested haven providing artists exactly what we need most - time, space & clarity, and freedom to be as we are. Surrounded by the chatter of chipmunks and chirping of crickets, artists cook together, mentor each other, swap stories on the porch while the sun scatters its rays through birch branches, night time visions of street lights replaced with moon glow and fireflies. I'm so grateful to everyone who has helped sustain the utopian vision Byrdcliffe was founded on over 115 years ago; through the dedication of so many hard working hearts and hands the creative community lives on, supporting artists and art lovers alike for many years to come.
