Artist Matt Kinney was born in Georgetown, MA and grew up in the neighboring town of Boxford. Heavily wooded and crisscrossed with streams, it contributed early on to his love for Nature. He has lived in Los Angeles, Boston and New York City. Kinney produces his work full-time in the HV and shows regularly throughout the world. Kinney’s work primarily deals with ideas on waking trance, dream state, and ancient animistic views of the world. He produces sculptures, paintings, and drawings. His three-dimensional works are carved from wood, cast in metal and integrate found objects to create works that are familiar yet transformed, to create a tapestry of perception. His two-dimensional work is primarily wrought in Japanese Sumi ink and on paper.Find his work at mattkinney.net
Eat Church, chef/owner, Mark Turcotte can chart his journeyman’s story through the lens of culture building and food history. He grew up in Lowell, MA during a time of massive SE Asian immigration and shifting ideas about community. A real-life education in the kitchens of the west coast and Europe as well as years long adventures of making art, cooking, and eating in France and Spain brought him back to NYC over a decade later. Eat Church is the culmination of that journey. It is a food truck and pop-up kitchen that functions as an arena for creating opportunities to bring eating and drinking experiences to his new community in the Hudson Valley and beyond.
